For some time now, my gallery has been offline. Due to personal reasons, I just didn’t have the time or energy to devote to my photography. But I’ve come to the conclusion recently that being in a creative rut is no excuse for not being creative—that’s the only way you’ll ever get out of it.
So today, I brought my gallery back online, played around with it a bit and cleaned it up. Then I tried to update the software running it and this happened:
Try to update my photo gallery and hosed it. Idk what I did.

So I figured out how to do a manual upgrade, which involved deleting over 2500 files. Because I was stupid, I deleted them via FTP, which takes forever (over three hours in this case), instead of via the command line, which is more or less instantaneous. There were some folders I wasn’t supposed to delete, which is why I used FTP, because if I made a mistake and started to delete one, I could stop it before too much damage was done. With the command line, it’s just poof!—and it’s gone.
After that, I had to upload all the new files. (Same long process.) And then, because I’m that kind of person and because I’ve been through this before, I was afraid that I had corrupted my database. But I hadn’t. It all turned out beautifully.
Here are some photographs I took back in June of 2010:

That reminds me, I do a lot of work on Instagram that I should start posting over here as well. That’s for another day, though.
